HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A water main break is forcing road closures on the east side Wednesday morning.
Galveston near Allendale is not passable.
Just after 7 a.m., Houston police said in a tweet that the water main break on Galveston Road is forcing closures between Allendale Road and Howard Drive.

HPD told ABC13 they're not sure if a hydrant was struck or if the water main break occurred due to age failure.
Officers and Houston Public Works are on scene, but drivers are to use alternate routes and avoid the area as it's expected to be closed for a while.
