More Rain, Followed By a Break in the Action - WGEM

apenabe.blogspot.com

We are starting off our Tuesday morning with warm temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. We also have showers moving through. Some of these showers are producing a lighter rain, but there are some heavier pockets of rain as well. This could lead to some ponding on the roads. If you're heading out during the morning you may want to grab your umbrella. As of right now, it looks like these showers will move out later in the morning/early afternoon. After the early morning/early afternoon rain moves out, a lot of us will remain dry the rest of the day. However, later in the afternoon and evening, some scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible. A lot of these are forecasted to stay on the Missouri side and may just clip our western counties. Winds are out of the southeast and could gust up to 20-25 mph. These southerly winds should help us to get a little warmer, with most of us seeing high in the low 70s.

On Wednesday, a warmer and more humid airmass will start to impact the region. Highs are expected to rise into the upper 70s, with breezy southerly winds. Winds could gust up to 25 mph. In the morning, there could be just a handful of showers in the Tri-States, but then those will dissipate. It will be a mostly cloudy day overall, but I do anticipate some breaks in the clouds. Late in the afternoon and evening, some scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop. As of right now, it looks like most of these will stay outside of the Tri-States. However, we'll need to be ready for those to come our way, incase of a shift in their track.
