Authorities in Haubstadt, Indiana, are asking the community to keep an eye out for anything suspicious after a recently-reported string of break-ins in the area.
The Haubstadt Police Department said Wednesday that it had received several calls about homes, barns, and vehicles being broken into on the outskirts of town.
Then on Thursday, HPD said a resident in Hirsch Woods called 911 and said that someone had broken into their home.
HPD said that the 911 caller reported waking up to their dog barking and noticed that a door was open. Police say several items were taken from the home during that break-in.
The police department is urging everyone to keep the doors locked, lights on, and security systems operational. HPD also urges the community to keep all valuable items like keys, cell phones, and wallets, somewhere safe.
HPD hasn't said that any arrests have been made at this time, but the department says it's working hard to catch anyone involved.
