NORMAL, Illinois-- The Ohio volleyball team was swept by Marquette (19-25, 18-25, 15-25) and the University of Illinois-Chicago (18-25, 23-25, 24-26) on Saturday (Sept 4.), concluding their time at the Red & White Invitational.
In the first match, the Bobcats only hit .065 to Marquette's .303. Ohio closed the gap in the second match, but where still edged out by UIC .261 to .266.
Freshman Caroline Clippard (Cincinnati, Ohio) led both matches in kills, recording nine in the first and 15 in the second. Clippard managed a hitting percentage of .444 in the second match on 27 total attacks. As for assists, sophomore Tria McLean (Battle Creek, Neb.) led the matches with 23 and 20.
Up next, Ohio will travel to Manhattan, Kansas where they will compete in the K-State Invitational. The Bobcats are set to face Loyola Chicago at 10 a.m. and Kansas State at 7 p.m. EST on Sept. 9.
