ARLINGTON, Texas – Oklahoma State came up short Tuesday night at Globe Life Field as the ninth-ranked Cowboys fell 13-6 to ULM.

With the loss, the Cowboys dropped to 11-3-1 on the season, while ULM improved to 7-6.

OSU allowed four runs in the opening inning, three of those unearned, and never recovered.

Several Cowboys had significant firsts as freshman Jaxson Crull went 2-for-4 at the plate, recording the first hits and RBIs of his career.

Fellow frosh Orlando Salinas Jr. made his collegiate debut and responded by homering in his second at-bat for the first hit of his career when he led off the ninth with a blast to right field. Marcus Brown also collected his first-career hit, a double.

The Cowboys used six pitchers in the contest, with Eric Walker taking the loss in his first OSU start. Zach Cable kept the Warhawks off the scoreboard over the final 2 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.

ULM led 8-2 after four innings, and a five-run seventh inning all but sealed the Cowboys' fate.

OSU did score four runs over the final two frames, including three runs in an eighth inning that saw Caeden Trenkle smack his first home run of the season, a two-run shot, and Crull drive home a run on a single.

Up next, the Cowboys open Big 12 Conference play when they travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech. Friday's opener is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
