Elon, NC - The Hofstra volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Elon on Saturday evening at the Schar Center.
The loss drops the Pride's record to 13-12 overall and 7-7 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Elon moved to 16-10 and 11-5 in the league.
Graduate student Ana Martinovic led Hofstra with nine kills, while junior Zyare Abdul-Rahim posted eight kills.
The Pride was unable to get on track offensively in the match, hitting just .174 for the contest as Elon captured the three-set win.
Freshman Beatriz Alves had 31 assists for the Pride and freshman Chiara Cucco notched 13 digs.
Leah Daniel and Sydney Love tied for match-high honors with 11 kills for Elon.
Hofstra closes the regular season next weekend when it hosts James Madison for a pair of matches. The Pride and the Dukes will face each other on Saturday and Sunday with both matches starting at 1 p.m. Both contests will air on FloVolleyball.
NOTES
- Hofstra leads the all-time series with Elon, 10-4.
- Alves has led Hofstra in assists in every match this season and posted double figures in assists in all 25 matches.
