A blowout loss resulted in Michigan State falling out of the top 10 in the national rankings.
The Spartans (9-2, 6-2 Big Ten), who were hammered 56-7 at Ohio State on Saturday, fell five spots to No. 12 in the AP Top 25 and dropped five places to No. 13 in the Coaches Poll, which were released Sunday afternoon.
Ohio State climbed three places to No. 2 in the new AP rankings and moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll as the highest-ranked Big Ten team.

This is the first time Michigan State has been outside the top 10 in both polls since Oct. 3 rankings, following a win against Western Kentucky to move to 5-0.
The Spartans were No. 7 in College Football Playoff rankings each of the last two weeks. Those will be updated on Tuesday.
Michigan State began the season 8-0 but has dropped two of its last three games with defeats at Purdue and Ohio State. The Spartans host Penn State (7-4, 4-4) on Saturday (3:30 p.m., ABC) in the regular-season finale.
