The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says there were 57 opioid overdoses in March, 12 of which were were fatal.
That's down from last March, which saw 80 overdoses and 17 fatalities.
There have been 151 overdoses from January through March of this year, and 34 people have died.
During the same three month period in 2020, 218 overdoses were recorded, 41 deadly.
While the numbers are down, the hope is to get overdose deaths down to zero.
Monroe County has partnered with a dozen local agencies to help people with addiction.
