Battle of the Bosses - Seahawks Fans vs. Players

Always compete. It's a Seahawks mantra, and while the offseason may be upon us, football isn't the only way our team embraces it. This Thursday, six Seahawks players will squad up for a Call of Duty tournament along popular gamers like HawksNest, and some fan teams that battled it out for the opportunity earlier this week.

On Tuesday, 122 teams of three (for those scoring at home, that's 366 total players) competed in a COD tournament which took place on both Xbox and PlayStation. Nathaniel Betts from Spokane, Wash. captained the winning PlayStation team, and Richard Spivey from Brookville, Ind. captained the winning Xbox team. Each team received three autographed mini helmets, three SCUF Seattle Surge controllers, $150 to the Seahawks Pro Shop, and a spot in the "Battle of the Bosses" tournament this Thursday.

Thursday's main event, which begins at 6 p.m., will feature a total of eight teams and six different Seahawks players: Ugo Amadi, Carlos Hyde, Kyle Fuller, Damontre Moore, Rasheem Green, and Geno Smith.

Several players will captain teams with friends and family members, while Moore, Green and Smith will partner up for a players-only squad. Seahawks fan and YouTube/Call of Duty influencer, HawksNest, will also represent in the Battle of the Bosses. He is teaming up with fellow influencers NoahFromYouTube and Godzly. Collectively, the three players have 1.2 million followers on YouTube. Here are the teams:

  1. Ugo Amadi and friends
  2. Carlos Hyde and friends
  3. Kyle Fuller and friends
  4. Damontre Moore, Rasheem Green and Geno Smith
  5. HawksNest, NoahFromYouTube and Godzly
  6. PlayStation tournament winner: Nathaniel Betts and team
  7. Xbox tournament winner: Richard Spivey and team
  8. Coin flip between the runner-ups in the PlayStation and Xbox tournaments

HawksNest will be streaming the tournament on his YouTube channel beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

This was the first non-sports gaming tournament the Seahawks have hosted, and given the incredible participation this week, the team intends to continue to expand opportunities for fans and players alike.
