CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs softball team saw a late lead slip away in game one before falling behind early in game two, falling 9-8 and 9-2, during a doubleheader against Marshall inside Jim Frost Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Following the pair of defeats, Chattanooga falls to 4-13 overall and has dropped its last nine, the longest single-season skid since 1994. Marshall improves to 8-3 overall after the wins and halted its three-game losing streak entering the weekend.

Full game recap, box scores, and more are below.

Marshall plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI double to center and RBI single through the right side to break the tie and lead 5-3.

Chattanooga exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by an Adison Keylon grand slam, her first career round tripper. Kendall Andrews started the scoring with an RBI walk before Keylon's shot down the right field line gave the Mocs an 8-5 advantage. (WATCH)

Marshall recorded a double, single, RBI double, hit-by-pitch and RBI walk, all with no outs, to force UTC to call Regan Lowrie to the circle from the bullpen,

In the top of the fourth, the Thundering Herd led off with a walk and ran into a double play a batter later. A pair of two-out walks put runners at first and second and led to Kylie Coffin entering the circle in relief of Lowrie. A walk and two-run single later, Marshall saw its lead grow to 6-0 before being retired on a fly out to center.

Chattanooga scored its first run in the bottom of the sixth on a Marshall fielding error in right field off the bat of Adison Keylon, scoring Hayleigh Weissenbach from second who doubled with one out in the inning.

Marshall scored a trio of runs in the seventh to push out to a sizeable 9-1 lead. The runs were scored via a SAC fly, RBI walk and RBI hit-by-pitch. The Mocs plated a run in the bottom half on a Weissenbach SAC fly to center, ultimately falling short in a spirited rally attempt, 9-2.

Parrott (1-4) suffered the defeat in the circle after tossing 2.1 innings and allowing six hits and four earned runs while striking out and walking two. Lowrie, Coffin and Hannah Wood all saw action in relief.
