NAPLES, Fla. – A college student from Naples was bitten by a shark in Palm Beach while on Spring Break this week.
Bryce Albert, 20, who is from Naples and is now a student at Auburn, said he and four friends were at Juno Pier Thursday afternoon. They were in the water close by the pier when the shark bit him.
At first, Albert said he thought his friend was kicking him and then he felt like he was being hit by a medal because it hurt so bad.
Albert was scared, doctors would have to amputate his arm, but they didn’t have to. He said he made it through surgery and his arm is stitched up. Albert said he is in pain, but he’s okay.
He is still at a hospital in West Palm Beach and said his doctor has done a lot of shark bite surgeries. He said his doctor believed it was a 6-foot blacktip shark.
