In singles, senior Carlo Izurieta fell in the main back draw to UTSA's Sebastian Rodriguez 3-6, 6-7. Junior Misha Kvantaliani advanced in the main back draw after an injury to Texas Tech's Ollie Wallin but had to walk over against Abilene Chrisitan's Daniel Linkuns-Morozov to end his tournament.
In the qualifiers back draw, freshman Sam Whitehead picked up a three-set victory over SMU's Eddie Ross. Whitehead dropped the first set 2-6 but answered with a 6-4 win in the second. Whitehead then battled to pick up the 10-8 victory in the tiebreaker to clinch the victory.
Whitehead then fell in straight sets to SMU's Eli Susser to close out play at the regionals.
Junior Chris Lawrance also picked up a victory in the qualifiers back draw as he defeated Abilene Christian's Ryan Flanagan 6-0, 6-1 but fell to UTSA's Maxim Groysman 4-6, 4-6.
