RALEIGH, N.C. - Duke's volleyball program fell to NC State, 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 26-24), Sunday evening at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, N.C.

With the loss, head coach Jolene Nagel's squad drops to 12-9 (3-7 ACC) as the Wolfpack improves to 12-9 (6-4 ACC).

The Blue Devils were led by senior Ade Owokoniran with eight kills as junior Gracie Johnson and sophomore Georgia Stavrinides each added seven. Setters Alex Springate and Camille Nazor dished 14 and nine, respectively, while libero Mackenzie Cole paced the defensive corps with 15 digs.

Duke's serve was consistent throughout the match and its blocking improved as the game progressed. Cole and Johnson led the way with three aces each and Stavrinides captured six blocks that included two solo.

Both teams were evenly matched in the opening points of the match despite NC State posting a .378 hitting percentage. Stavrinides found her rhythm early on both sides of the ball with her 10th solo block of the season just before her second kill of the match to push Duke ahead by one (15-14) at the media break. Duke came out of a NC State timeout with a tough serve as Cole registered back-to-back aces to take a four-point lead (20-16). A crucial challenge in favor of Duke put them up one (23-22), but NC State's Taylor Rowland found consecutive kills to give NC State a 1-0 lead into the second.

A 4-0 NC State run gave the Wolfpack a 9-5 lead, forcing Nagel into a timeout. NC State went on to win four of five points to push its lead to eight (16-8) as Nagel took her second timeout of the second set. Duke finally got a number in the block assist stat line as Johnson and Stavrinides teamed up to close the block and spark a 6-0 run and close the gap (23-20), but NC State took a 2-0 lead as Jade Parchment tallied her 10th kill of the match.

Nazor came off the bench for Duke and helped bring Duke's offense to life with nine assists in the third. Despite struggling with the block in the first two sets, Duke's block erupted in the third frame with eight assists. A 3-0 NC State run to cut into Duke's lead (20-19) and forced the Blue Devils into a timeout. Owokoniran's knocked in her seventh kill of the match before Lizzie Fleming and Rachel Richardson teamed up with a block to give Duke a two point edge (22-20). A 5-0 NC State run closed out the match as Duke couldn't capitalize on three set points.

NC State was led by Parchment (12 kills) and Melissa Evans (11 kills) as the Wolfpack hit .213 for the match.
