American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy is notorious for keeping his upcoming projects tightly under wraps, but the producer just revealed a new clue and a filming update for Season 10, Entertainment Weekly reports. In an Instagram post today, Murphy assured fans that despite the pandemic, the horror series is set to resume production this fall — and it also looks like there’s a sharp set of fangs included in the highly-anticipated tenth season.
Posting an image of a set of chiseled teeth, Murphy wrote, “Looks like American Horror Story Season 10 is go for an October (fitting) production launch. Thanks to everyone who is working hard to assure a safe start for the cast and crew. And yes this is a clue.”
Of course, he kept it cryptic, but that didn’t stop fans from speculating, with some wondering if Season 10 includes piranhas, vampires, werewolves or even sirens. Until Murphy fully unveils the theme, we’ll have to keep guessing, but we already have a few hints from the creator himself. Back in May, Murphy posted another clue on Instagram, this one featuring a coastal shoreline with some broken fences.
Thankfully, the cast hasn’t been kept top-secret, so we do have some information about who will be starring in the mystery series. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angelica Ross, Adina Porter, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Billie Lourd and Leslie Grossman are returning to AHS after starring on multiple seasons, and Kathy Bates is back, too. And there’s one new addition to get excited about: Macaulay Culkin. Murphy teased Culkin’s role in Season 10 earlier this year, revealing that the actor signed up for the role when he learned that his character has “crazy, erotic sex” with Bates’ character.
So if we’re keeping track, Season 10 includes some sort of monster with fangs, a beachy setting, and an intense sexual relationship between at least two characters. We don’t have an answer for what that all adds up to, but whatever Murphy has in store for us, we can’t wait to see it.
