CLEVELAND — A water main break that released a significant amount of water has closed Tower City Center on Monday, according to the Cleveland Water Department.
The water leak is on a 6-inch sprinkler on the main floor of Tower City.
The water leak was concentrated on Level M1, located one floor below street level.
A spokesperson for Tower City said the leak has been contained and no injuries were reported.
"We have ascertained that the leak occurred outside of our properties and we are working with adjacent property owners to confirm the cause," said a spokesperson for the center. "At this time, a small number of tenants have been affected and out of an abundance of caution, the mall will remain closed."
The Greater Cleveland RTA said trains are still running and passengers getting off at Tower City Station will need to exit the building on the Prospect Road side.
