CALUMET TOWNSHIP — The Houghton County Sheriff Department is investigating a report of a break-in at an unoccupied summer camp/home in Calumet Township.
The suspect or suspects gained entry by breaking a window on the front door, the sheriff’s department said in a release Monday. They stole numerous items, including several long guns, a pistol, fishing poles, fishing tackle, compound bow with arrows, about 30 pounds of agate rocks, a stainless steel maritime wall clock, old coins and other smaller items, the sheriff’s department said.
The break-in at the Lakeshore Drive site occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday and when the owner returned Monday to find the front door broken, the sheriff’s department said.
Anyone with information regarding the break-in is asked to call 911 or the Houghton County Sheriff Department at 482-0055.
