Fantasy football waiver wire 4 adds and 3 drops for NFL Week 15 - Cincy Jungle

apenabe.blogspot.com

There are only a couple of weeks left in fantasy football. If you are still playing meaningful games, congratulations!

If your league has some sort of tie in to support teams trying to win the losers bracket, not as cool but we are here to help you as well! This week didn’t have much in the way of adds unfortunately.

There are some risky adds that could pay off though. Mostly, this week is about trimming off the end of your bench to help prevent you from getting in a situation where you are scouring the waiver wire looking for a replacement for your running back who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 reserve list on Saturday.

Adds

Curtis Samuel, WR, Panthers: Samuel has a tough schedule to finish the fantasy playoffs, but he is fresh off scoring 16 points against a 26th ranked matchup against the Broncos. He had nine targets that turned into seven catches for 68 yards and two carries for 22 yards. He isn’t going to be someone you add and expect to score you 20 points, but if you’re looking for a player who is going to score in the teens then he is probably your guy. He also is one of the more available pickups only being rostered in roughly 59 percent of Yahoo Sports fantasy leagues.

Russell Gage, WR, Falcons: Fantasy players are probably very familiar with Gage, who started off 2020 extremely hot before getting cold. Well, he is getting hot again scoring over 15 points in his past two games in tough matchups. Against the Chargers, Gage took advantage of Julio Jones being out with a hamstring injury again. He caught five passes for 82 yards, but he also threw a 39-yard touchdown pass. You obviously can’t anticipate him to be involved passing the ball each week, but it is a good sign that the offense is looking to involve him creatively. He is only rostered in roughly 11 percent of leagues, and he has a matchup with the Bucs, who are a top 10 matchup for receivers in fantasy, next week.

DeAndre Washington, RB, Dolphins: Washington got to play a pretty substantial role with Myles Gaskins being added to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday. He didn’t have an eye popping game, but obviously he didn’t have much time to prepare. He will likely have a better game with a week to practice and Gaskins isn’t removed from the reserve list before next week either.

Jeff Wilson Jr., RB, 49ers: One of the only reasons that Wilson is being included here is because he is only rostered in roughly 19 percent of leagues. He is kind of a risky play due to the committee of backs he is a part of. Even with scoring a touchdown this week he only came out with just under 10 points. This is more if you are in a deep league and in desperate need of a running back, Wilson may be the most attractive option in your league.

Drops

All other 49ers running backs beside Wilson and Raheem Mostert: So lets start with this, the 49ers have a great rushing attack, but the biggest problem with them for fantasy is their are simply too many running backs getting carries. There isn’t one or two backs you can count on week in and week out, which makes it almost like playing the lottery with when to start one of them. This week Mostert had nine carries for 42 yards, Wilson had seven carries for 47 yards (and five targets), Tevin Coleman only had two carries for negative yards and Jerick McKinnon didn’t even register a touch. It is just a situation that should be avoided if possible.

Leonard Fournette, RB, Bucs: The guy was a healthy scratch in Week 14. I shouldn’t have to tell you that wasting a roster spot on a guy who may not even be in the team’s week-to-week plans is a bad idea. Fantasy players who salivated at the idea of Fournette possibly reviving his glory days without being the constant focus of NFL defenses have to be sorely disappointed with his season.

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Broncos: The inclusion of Jeudy (or any other player for that matter) in the drop section isn’t always an indication that the player isn’t talented. In this case, the rookie wide receiver just isn’t putting up good enough numbers to stay on your roster. He hasn’t scored double digit points in the past five weeks, and he ends the season with two terrible matchups against the Bills and Chargers. You probably have had him sitting on your bench these past few weeks anyway, if you need to drop someone it may as well be him.
