STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A police pursuit Monday afternoon in Elm Park ended with three people arrested, three vehicles wrecked and the recovery of a gun and drugs, cops say.

The driver of a Ford Fusion with a Pennsylvania license plate fled from officers while disobeying traffic laws, before barreling into the private property on the 200 block of Granite Avenue, an NYPD spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Upon a search of the suspects' vehicle, officers recovered a loaded 9 mm Ruger handgun and oxycodone pills, the spokeswoman said.

Police charged two adult males from Mariners Harbor and a 17-year-old female in connection with the incident.

The males were identified as Hassan Bility, 22, of the 100 block of Lockman Avenue, and Teon Bagley, 21, of the 300 block of Grandview Avenue. The female was not identified by the NYPD because she is a minor.

Bility allegedly was behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the incident, the spokeswoman said.

Included among a host of charges filed by police in connection with the incident were criminal possession of a loaded weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration.

Witnesses said it appeared that two of the people occupying the car received medical attention at the scene. A law enforcement source said later that no one involved was seriously injured.

Collateral damage at the scene included two unoccupied vehicles, a 2019 Nissan Rogue and a newer model Honda Accord. A small tree on the sidewalk was uprooted, while a mailbox was sent flying about 10 feet onto a neighbor’s front steps.

“This is insane,” said a woman who owns the Accord, and rushed home after learning about what happened from a neighbor. “The force (of impact) — I can’t even...”

Officers in an unmarked NYPD vehicle remained at the scene Monday, as a pair of tow trucks turned onto the narrow, two-way street to help with the cleanup.

Said another woman who lives on the block: “Thank God no one was outside, thank God no (neighbors) were hurt.”

A post Monday night on the NYPD’s 121st Precinct Twitter account commended the arresting officers for “risking their lives once again...recovering this loaded firearm from a vehicle.”
