4 adds and 3 drops for NFL Week 13 in fantasy football - Cincy Jungle

We have finally made it to Week 13. That means playoffs may be kicking off in your league.

Unfortunately, it seems COVID-19 has been hitting the NFL harder now than any point during the season. That is terrible for actual real life reasons, but this is about which players to add and drop, not a pandemic.

Adds

Deebo Samuel, WR, 49ers: Samuel looked as good as you can returning from injury. He had 11 catches on 13 targets for 133 receiving yards. Kyle Shanahan clearly loves using Samuel as much as possible. He gets a ton of quick short passes that look more like runs than anything, which really doesn’t make a difference in fantasy. He is currently only owned in 56 percent of Yahoo Sports leagues, so pray you are lucky enough to put in a claim for him this week.

Taysom Hill, QB, Saints: It is unfortunate that Hill has lost his playability at tight end in fantasy, and he didn’t have the best outing in Week 12 against the Broncos (he did rush for two touchdowns). However, he gets to play the Falcons against after dominating them in Week 11. If you need some security at quarterback for Week 13, then Hill should be near the top of your list.

Latavius Murray, RB, Saints: Murray ran the ball more than Alvin Kamara on Sunday. He ran for 124 yards on 19 carries with two rushing touchdowns. I’m not saying drop Kamara, or even that Murray has taken Kamara’s spot. It does seem to be that Murray is at least being considered more with Hill starting at quarterback, and he will have a chance at being a very decent flex option next week.

Breshad Perriman, WR, Jets: This one I’m including because Perriman is only rostered in about 12 percent of leagues. This means he is easily the most available player out of these four. He had eight targets this week that he turned into four catches and 79 yards. Sam Darnold returned, and he seems to be happy with continuing Perriman’s hot streak. He hasn’t gotten back up over 20 points again since Week 9, but he has had double digit points the past two games, and he gets the Raiders and then Seahawks the next two weeks. He should see some valuable garbage time play.

Drops

Le’Veon Bell, RB, Chiefs: In a normal year, hanging on to Bell wouldn’t be that hard. There have been too many last minute COVID-19 cases these past few weeks along with just normal injuries taking people out to waste a roster spot on a guy who barely put up double digit points against a top three fantasy matchup. He just doesn’t get enough volume to really be anything but a blind hopeful play. The Chiefs loving having Patrick Mahomes throw it all over the field and Clyde Edwards-Helaire is still the lead running back. I wouldn’t go dropping him just because, but if you need a spot for someone else, do not hesitate to make Bell someone else’s problem in fantasy.

Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals: In case it wasn’t obvious, most Bengals are just unplayable in fantasy without Joe Burrow. Bernard was already struggling the past few weeks, but now that a team was able to game plan to force Brandon Allen to beat them, it really sucked out the last bit of fantasy value Bernard had. One has to wonder if they have Joe Mixon even return at this point, but sledding doesn’t get any easier down the stretch than a Giants defense he put up just under seven points against.

Leonard Fournette, RB, Bucs: How is this guy rostered in 85 percent of leagues? That is a pretty high percentage for a a player that hasn’t even reached 15 points since Week 7. He put together a couple of 10 point games after that, but he hit a new low this week with just five points. He had a total of six touches for 20 yards (three catches). Meanwhile, Ronald Jones had 10 touches that turned into over 100 total yards and a touchdown. Fournette just isn’t the running back to own in the backfield, and it is safe to drop him as they head into a bye week.
