The Rays are looking to head into the All-Star break on a roll today as they take a six-game winning streak into the 1:10 p.m. game against the Blue Jays at Tropicana Field.

The Rays are 53-36, and regardless of today’s outcome, they will have the second-best winning percentage heading into the break in franchise history.

Veteran lefty Rich Hill will be on the mound for the Rays, coming off a frustrating 3⅔ inning outing on Monday against Cleveland.

Lefty Robbie Ray, who has given the Rays trouble, is starting for the Jays.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said reliever Ryan Thompson’s shoulder issues will likely keep him sidelined for the first 6-10 games after the All-Star break. On the positive side, both Chris Archer (elbow) and Oliver Drake (flexor tendon) are going to start rehab assignments this week.

After the game, the two Rays All-Star players, catcher Mike Zunino and infielder Joey Wendle, will join Cash, the coaches, athletics trainers and other staff, along with the Blue Jays All-Stars, on a chartered flight to Denver for Tuesday’s All-Star Game.
