FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU softball team (0-2) could not stymie the UCF (2-0) bats as the Eagles fell in both games by scores of 13-0 and 8-0, Saturday night at the FGCU Softball Complex.

"Obviously not the result we wanted tonight in either game, but credit UCF, they brought it right from the start," said head coach David Deiros. We'll have to put this behind us quickly and get ready for two more games tomorrow afternoon."

Game 1 | UCF 13, FGCU 0 (6 innings)
The Knights posted crooked numbers in the first, fifth, and sixth innings as they totaled 15 hits. Georgia Blair led the offensive attack going 3-for-3 with four RBI and one home run.

On the Eagles' side, Taylor Bauman (Jacksonville, Fla./Atlantic Coast HS) ended the game 2-for-3 with a double at the dish.

Marissa Mesiemore (Bushnell, Fla./South Sumter HS) was tagged with the loss after tossing 5.2 innings.

Game 2 | UCF 8, FGCU 0 (5 innings)
UCF kept its momentum going right out of the gates, scoring two in the first as Julianna Wilson sent a two-run blast to right field. They would go on score one run in the second and third before tacking on four in the fourth frame.

FGCU recorded four hits on offense as Johneisha Rowe (Avon Park, Fla./Sebring HS) registered her first stolen base of the year. Freshman Angelina Bonilla (Coral Gables, Fla./Coral Gables Senior HS) was hit with the loss in the circle after her five innings of work.
