FARGO — A man was in custody Tuesday, July 14, after allegedly breaking into a far south Fargo home and threatening to kill the homeowners.

About 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 4000 block of Pine Parkway South. The homeowners woke up to the sound of glass breaking and a man inside their home, according to the Fargo Police Department.

Brock Christian Toay, 26, of Fargo, allegedly followed the homeowners around the house, threatening to kill them until one of the homeowners was able to detain him until officers could arrive.

Police also identified Toay as the suspect in an attempted break-in the same morning at Happy Harry’s Bottle Shop on 53rd Avenue South.

A security camera captured Toay attempting to throw a rock through the front door, police said. The rock didn’t break the glass, and he ran away.
