A 36-inch water main break at Ferst Dr and Hemphill Ave NW, interrupted service around Atlanta on Saturday.
By Sunday, the boil water advisory was still in effect for many areas of Atlanta. The Department of Watershed Management pointed to an interactive map to check if your area is still under the advisory.

Alicia Mintz lives in East Atlanta with her wife, a dog and two cats. Noticing the water went out around noon on Saturday, she wondered if maybe she had forgotten to pay the bill. After seeing her neighbors report the same issue on social media, she realized this was a widespread issue.
“We can not flush the toilet. So that’s pretty exciting,” she said. “That was kind of the funny thing. There’s a boil advisory on but we can’t even get water to come out to do a boil advisory.”
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms tweeted Saturday afternoon about the break causing service disruptions throughout the city and advised those who still have service to boil their water before use.
There has been a large water main break in the city of Atlanta. We are aware of problems throughout the city and crews are working to repair the issue. For those who still have service, a boil water advisory is in effect.
