PUEBLO — Parents, let's face it. For many of us it has been a nightmare, trying to manage our kids' education from home while working from home ourselves. Moms and dads in Pueblo who need a break, can sign-up for a tutoring program at the El Pueblo Museum.

This fall, El Pueblo History Museum will offer what they're calling 'Hands on History Homework Help'. It's a half-day program for remote learning students in grades first through twelfth. Each session will have tutors available, access to internet, nutritious snacks, circle time with stretching and meditation, and additional educational activities.

Feedback has already been swift and positive, even though the sessions doesn't officially start until Sept. 22. Parents are already excited about the program.

"One parent told me oh goodness! Now I can go to the grocery store," explained Tamara Trujallo, Education Coordinator for the El Pueblo Museum. "I was seeing that parents are really struggling with providing the support and help that the students needed."

Hands-On History is run by an experienced team of museum educators, volunteers, and college interns. One of them is Cheyenne Romero, a student at CSU Pueblo.

"They think that us as the adults are going to be teaching them so much but I really learn a lot from the kids myself," Romero said, "It's really an amazing reciprocal process here."

College students who need field experience can also sign-up and tutor students. The sessions run twice a day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It only costs 12 dollars a session. For more information, click here.
