The number of new coronavirus cases in Riverside County set a record for the third straight day Friday, July 10 — 1,431 new cases recorded since Thursday, July 9.
Four more deaths from COVID-19 were recorded since the day before.
Numbers typically include cases from the past few days, but the increase has been consistent. Statistics reported Wednesday, July 8, showed a record 856 new cases compared to the previous day, followed by a record 1,377 additional cases reported Thursday, July 9.
In the past week, Riverside County has added 5,315 new cases. That is approximately what the cumulative total was on May 13.
More than 11% of tests in Riverside County have come back positive for the coronavirus.
Here are the latest numbers, according to Riverside County and state public health officials.
Cases: 24,765, up from 23,334 cases Thursday
Deaths: 537, up from 533 Thursday
Hospitalizations: 528, up from 515 Wednesday; Suspected patients: 162, up from 149 Thursday (Last updated by the state Thursday)
Intensive-care unit patients: 116, down from 117 Wednesday; Suspected patients: 15, up from 10 Wednesday
Recoveries: 9,367, up from 9,246 Thursday
Long-term care facilities (includes nursing homes): Residents: 1,328, up from 1,305 Thursday; Deaths: 141 as of Tuesday, according to the state; Employees: 881, up from 804 Thursday.
Tests conducted: 272,981
