HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A cold front has brought switch to our winds. They are out of the north northwest. Those winds will be increasing through the day, getting up to between 15 and 30 mph. Some gusts could exceed 35 mph. Skies will remain mostly cloudy through the day. High temperatures will range from the upper 30s northwest to the mid 50s southeast. During the afternoon, many will see temperatures slowly start to drop. Heading into tonight, skies will slowly start to clear up and winds will slowly die down. This will lead to a good drop in temperatures and a cold start to our Thanksgiving. Low temperatures tomorrow morning will dip back into the mid 10s to mid 20s from northwest to southeast.

Thanksgiving will be a cool day, but with plenty of sunshine and lighter winds, it won’t be terrible. Highs will range from the upper 30s east to the low/mid 50s out west. Areas out west will begin to pick up on a west wind that will help to warm things up there. As the winds turn more westerly for the rest of the area Thursday night, temperatures won’t be nearly as strong early Friday morning. Low temperatures early Friday morning will drop into the mid to upper 20s and lower 30s. West breezes will kick up a bit on Friday at 7 to 17 mph. These winds will really start to warm things up. High temperatures on Friday warm up to the mid to upper 60s and I would certainly think 70°+ is a possibility.

A clipper system will bring a bit of a cool-down, a few more clouds (sprinkles perhaps), and some stronger northwesterly winds. High temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower 50s north to the lower 60s south. The slightly cooler air will still be overhead, but will begin to shift east on Sunday. Under mostly sunny skies and somewhat breezy southwest winds, high temperatures will range from the mid 50s east to the mid/upper 60s west.

Temperatures will soar on Monday with some breezy west northwest winds. We’ll see highs into the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s. A slight cool-down comes Tuesday with highs in the upper 50s and low to mid 60s, which is still way above average for the end of November. Signs are that the mild weather will last for a few more days before temperatures drop toward the end of next week. No major shots of precipitation are expected.
