KNOXVILLE, TENN.-- The High Point University Women's soccer team fell to #22 Tennessee 2-0 on Sunday night (Sep. 5). Morgan Hairston set a career-high in saves with 12 which also moved her to third all-time in program history for most saves in a single game. Sunday's game was the ninth time The Panthers have played an SEC school and HPU's 42nd match against a power five school in Division I school history. It was the 14th time in program history HPU has faced a ranked opponent.

Brandi Fontaine: Today, I was extremely proud of the team and the effort that they put in. We asked them to come out and play with a lot of heart, a lot of desire, and just as one unit. We had not put together a game as one unit. Especially on the defensive side of things we wanted to make sure we came out with a strong mentality and worked together to try to deny opportunities for them. I think today is a turning point for our team and can be a turning point for us heading into the rest of our schedule and as we get ready for conference play. I am extremely proud of how we showed up and played today and could not have asked for a better performance overall.
