Oregon softball was out-powered by Arizona State, which swept both ends of Saturday’s doubleheader in Tempe.

Yannira Acuna went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI in a 10-4 win for the No. 12 Sun Devils over the No. 8 Ducks in Game 1 and had two more RBIs in a 4-1 win in Game 2.

In the opener, Hanna Delgado hit a three-run home run to give Oregon (31-12, 9-8 Pac-12) an early lead.

But Acuna tied it in the bottom of the first. Maddi Hackbarth added a two-run shot in the third to give Arizona State (30-12, 10-7 Pac-12) a 5-3 lead.

Mya Felder hit an RBI double to get the Ducks within 1, but ASU capitalized on three walks by Brooke Yanez (three runs on four walks with seven strikeouts over 3.0 innings) and erupted for five runs in the sixth.

Samaria Diaz allowed three runs on two hits and a walk over 2.0 innings, Makenna Kliethermes allowed two runs on two hits and two walks over .1 inning and was tagged with the loss for UO and Raegan Breedlove allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over .2 inning.

In the nonconference nightcap, Acuna and Savannah Price each hit two-run home runs in the first off Jordan Dail and it proved to be more than enough for ASU to hang on.

Dail allowed four runs on three hits and a walk over 1.1 innings in her first Pac-12 start of the season. Diaz struck out eight and allowed three hits and a walk over 4.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Allison Royalty held UO to just a hit and walk and struck out four over 5.1 scoreless innings.

Four of Oregon’s five hits came in the seventh, including an RBI single by Shaye Bowden to breakup the shutout.

The teams wrap up the pivotal four-game weekend series at noon Sunday.
