NFL Fantasy Football: 5 adds and 4 drops for Week 7 - Cincy Jungle

apenabe.blogspot.com

The season for fantasy players is getting pretty wild. Piling on the brunt of the bye weeks with trying to keep up wit what games are being cancelled or postponed is becoming an almost full-time gig. Let us help you out by giving you a heads up on which players who have played so far are worth adding to fill out the last of your roster and which ones are worth tossing aside.

Adds

Tee Higgins, wide receiver, Bengals: Higgins has been in these post a couple of times, but he still barely owned in half of Yahoo! Sports’ fantasy leagues. He has had at least 10 fantasy points since being named a starter in Week 3, and he connected with Joe Burrow on one of the few big plays Cincinnati has had in the passing game this season. It is incredibly obvious that Higgins is going to be a consistent performer in fantasy. If he is available in your league pick him up.

J.D. McKissic, running back, Washington: McKissic’s production has been steadily rising over the past few weeks. This week he had 14 touches for just over 80 yards including six catches. He looks like the most talented back in that backfield even if he has a pretty solid split going with Antonio Gibson. McKissic may not ever become a RB2 for your fantasy team, but he can at least be a very solid flex option in PPR leagues. It helps he is currently only rostered in 11 percent of leagues.

Brandin Cooks, wide receiver, Texans: Cooks is already rostered in just over 60 percent of leagues, but that number needs to be 100 percent after his past two weeks. He caught all nine of his targets this week for 68 yards and a touchdown. It is clear that Bill O’Brien was holding back Cooks production, and it is hard to see that changing.

Travis Fulgham, wide receiver, Eagles: After having a career week in Week 5, Fulgham followed it up by leading the Eagles’ receiving group again. He was targeted 10 times catching six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in a tough matchup with the Ravens. He is still only on teams in about 30 percent of leagues. Pick him up and ride this connection he has found with Carson Wentz.

Trey Burton, tight end, Colts: Burton scored twice against the Bengals (one rushing and one receiving). He also abused the secondary catching four passes for 58 yards with Mo Alie-Cox out. Jack Doyle also caught three passes with one being a touchdown, but it seems like Burton was the far more productive and trustworthy of the two. If you have really been struggling at tight end then Burton is worth an add to hope he builds off this game.

Drops

Jordan Howard, running back, Dolphins: Howard was a healthy scratch in Week 6. Easy to say that doesn’t exactly work for people’s fantasy teams. Since Week 4 Howard hasn’t been relevant, and a lot of people hopped off his hype train, but this puts a nice bow on it.

Marvin Jones Jr., wide receiver, Lions: I mentioned two weeks ago to drop Jones before the bye week last week. He hasn’t been targeted enough, and he hasn’t produced with Kenny Golladay returning and becoming Matthew Stafford’s top target. He has been held under 10 yards two weeks in a row. Jones needs to make his way to the waiver wire.

Rex Burkhead, running back, Patriots: I don’t know how Burkhead is rostered in 40 percent of leagues, but that is WAY too high. He had one crazy game in Week 3, and he hasn’t been relevant since. He had five rushes for 14 yards this week, and New England is just too unpredictable with their fantasy production to try and figure out when to play him or any of their running backs.

Laviska Shenault Jr., wide receiver, Jaguars: D.J. Chark returned this week and got 14 targets. Shenault. meanwhile, had seven targets, but he only caught three of them for 10 yards. It is clear the rookie will still have games of relevance, but he is clearly the third option in this receiving group, and that isn’t going to be consistent enough.
