During fall break, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. will provide free meals to children 18 years of age and younger. BCSC’s website states that adults may purchase meals at $3.60 for lunch and $1.95 for breakfast.
According to an announcement regarding this extension of the Summer Food Service Program, free meals are also available for "persons over 18 years old who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.”
Meals will be available from Monday through Friday on a first come, first served basis at the following sites:
- Schmitt Elementary: Breakfast at 8-8:30 a.m. daily. Lunch at Noon-1 p.m. daily.
- Columbus Signature Academy Fodrea: Breakfast and lunch will be distributed together curbside from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Drive up to the left side of the building and pull up to door #4.
- Smith Elementary: Breakfast and lunch will be distributed together curbside from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Drive into the car rider line by door #20.

For families choosing to travel over fall break, BCSC’s Fall Break Travel Safety Guidelines can be found at www.bcscschools.org. The document includes CDC guidance on traveling amid the pandemic.
It also states that any families who are traveling internationally and have children enrolled in in-person learning should contact BCSC director of health services Kelli Thompson at 812-314-3867.
